                                                           Game Pitch :

Visual Novel set in a dystopian future at the heart of an authoritarian society. You play the role of a woman caught between her habits and the hope of the outside world...

About this project :

As part of this student project, I had the opportunity to hold three positions: Narrative Designer, Illustrator and Motion Designer, and Project Manager for a team of five people including two artists and two developers.

Skills put into practice :

My approach.

1.)

Initially, my work consisted of extensive research into the subject I had chosen to tackle: the consequences of global warming. First on a large scale, then in Florida.

I wanted to keep the setting plausible, which is why I consulted the various IPCC reports. I chose Florida because the consequences will be visible quickly, and they will be far-reaching.

2.)

Having done that, I had to sort through the information and make
choices to build a WorldBuilding.

3.)

In the end, I came up
with characters and dialogue to choose from. Knowing that the production time was short, I had to think of punchy chapters and engaging cruxal choices.

Focus on the Narrative Design

In the near future, Florida, a state in the south-east of the United States, is suffering the full impact of global warming and rising sea levels. Entire populations are having to move. Against this backdrop, the Florida government is doing all it can to help the population, but it is gradually turning into a dictatorship and wants to prevent its inhabitants from fleeing the state. Hope works for the government, but pressing events will force her to make some tough choices...
